Sesame is a type of seed that comes from the sesamum indicum plant, also known as sesame. Since it is an annual plant that adapts very well to average temperatures of 25-30ºC, it is cultivated mainly in countries of the Middle East, especially India and China, as major producing countries. However, there are also other diverse ones, such as Brazil, Ethiopia, Sudan, Venezuela or Uganda.
They are a seed that stands out mainly for its high percentage of oil and various nutritional values: as high proteins, fibers and minerals contribute to, among others, lower blood cholesterol levels and help regulate intestinal function. They are also an alternative source of calcium, magnesium, and copper. All these nutritional benefits make it stand out above all the delay of aging, the protection of the cardiovascular system, the relief of depression, the protection of the digestive system, etc.
